How Has Art Started?

           Based on historical narratives, art is one of the oldest and most important means of expression developed by human beings. Paintings of animals like bulls, we’re already found among the rough and rocky walls of caves. Other images were activities of man’s daily life. The prehistoric man was already seeking and making images to express his inner feelings and emotions. During the Upper Paleolithic Age, some 10,000 to 20,000 years before Christ, many paintings or outlines of images were already found in the caves. It believed that art dated back to prehistory. The famous Greek epics written by homer, dated back before the beginning of the recorded history that is about the 12th and 9th centuries. Music and dance were important activities of early people. In 586 BCE for example, The Greeks held festivals and competitions for playing musical instruments. A painting of Apollo holding a Kithara, a Greek instrument, like the harp, was found. Already in Abraham’s time the Bible makes mention of gifts of “ a gold nose ring,” golden bracelets, and other articles of silver and gld. The Royal Tombs of Ur, in which city Abraham once lived, have yielded many exquisite ornaments of high artistic skill.

1. Drawing

           Drawing goes back at least 16,000 years to Paleolithic cave representations of animals such as those at Lascaux in France and Altamira in Spain. In an Ancient Egypt, ink drawings on papyrus, often depicting people, were used as models for painting or sculpture. Drawings on Greek vases, initially geometric, later developed to the human form with black-figure pottery during the 7th century BCE. With paper becoming common in Europe by the 15th century, drawing was adopted by masters such as Sandro Botticelli, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonard da Vinci who sometimes treated drawing as an art in its own right rather than a preparatory stage for painting or sculpture.

2. Painting

            History painting dates back to the Renaissance and was long considered to be the "grand genre". Nevertheless it has its peak in the 19th century forged by Neoclassicism and Romanticism. There it became the artistic contribution in the process of the construction of National Identities of the European and American nations. At the same time history painting under the influence of histories pretended to be "realistic", to show history how it has been. Above all it was this pretension that led to the great failure of History painting And Realism at the end of the century. When artists and their public realized that telling history always will be subjective and a painting will always be an illusion Realism and history painting lost their ground to modern painting."Painting is a composition of light and shade, combined with all the various kinds of simple and compound colors by Leonardo da Vinci”

3. Printmaking

                 In China, the art of printmaking developed some 1,100 years ago as illustrations alongside text cut in woodblocks for printing on paper. Initially images were mainly religious but in the Song Dynasty, artists began to cut landscapes. During the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1616-1911) dynasties, the technique was perfected for both religious and artistic engravings. In Europe, from around 1400 CE, woodcut was used for master prints on paper by using techniques for printing on cloth which had been developed in the Byzantine and Islamic worlds.

4. Filmmaking

                Is the process of making a motion picture, from an initial conception and research, through scriptwriting, shooting and recording, animation or other special effects, editing, sound and music work and finally distribution to an audience; it refers broadly to the creation of all times of films, embracing documentary, strains of theatre and literature in film, and poetic or experimental practices, and is often used to refer to video-based processes as well.
